Mt. Kilimanjaro!

Just sharing the excitement from around our house. My oldest son, Robert, was part of a team that helped blind cancer survivor, Tim Conners, hike to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro (the tallest free standing mountain in the world, and the highest point on the African continent at 19,341 feet.)

Here are a few images from the trip. Cool stuff. Great trip. An astounding accomplishment for Tim Conners!

Tim Conners is in the first picture; grey hat and olive green jacket.

Robert is in the other two pictures, with the "Texas" hat.

That's awesome. Has he considered doing a write-up of it?

Actually, the team documented the trip. The guy in this picture is a "filmmaker" and brought some nice equipment including a camera on a drone. They will be producing a high quality short film of the trek. It should be good!

  • White Mesa is an opwn space area in central New Mexico with awesome geography... and a well used bicycle loop almost 9 miles long (with some bonus bits if you're willing to hike back up afterwards). Our once a year has become a regular and here we were again, with an even larger group than normal, so I tried to catch the highlights
  • Hey guys, just hoping everyone is OK over there. Some of the craziest fires I've heard of outside Australia. Stay safe!
