Mustache Mike shot a bit of video lots of Mike S, and a fun day had by all followed by doggies and beer. Sorry I have not been able to host another group ride this spring its been a bit nuts here at work. I will definitely plan another comp after Nationals at Glacial park this fall. We regularly ride Glacial after work so if your on your on Rt 95 in CT ping either Jim C or me.

I definitely miss riding with the Northeast crew! Glacier park is absolutely INCREDIBLE!

I enjoyed watching that. I favor the natural terrain.

Funny though, as a former Fire Dept Incident Safety Officer, I couldn't help but notice the rider rolling around with no helmet; in those rocks. Would hate to hear the sound of that noggin slapping against a boulder.

As I "pick up" riding again, this video with riders of various skill levels, was helpful to watch. I saw several "moves" in this video that I can work on. Thanks for posting.

Johannes with his partially broken foot was messing around on the spare bike, normally he wears a helmet when riding for real. Agreed, he should have had one on regardless, I have taken some of my best falls in the parking lot!

Yes, in his "defense" he didn't appear to be trying anything much technical.

You are right though - we never know when we will "go down." Just last night I bruised and tore up my shin by failing to put on my shin guards. (See my post in "Beginners") My message about the helmet is as much a "reminder" for me as anyone else. ;-)

Jim bit the dust last night pretty much standing still, went to put his leg over his back wheel, caught his shin guard on the tire and went over with the bike, have to admit I laughed pretty damn hard.

Ha! Just a bit of irony that the skin guard had a part in that...

It's a truly a great spot, we are lucky to have Glacial Park and Arcadia's "Ledges" in our back yard plus a few more tucked away spots. I still need to do a little exploring locally.

Looks like a great group ride. Haven't seen Johannes around for a while.

  • If you've got balance you should ride your bike on a slackline! ... right? The snow chased us indoors last weekend so we tried the slackline again, but almost twice as long this time at just over 25 feet! it was Way harder! and regular trials stuff too.
  • Hey everyone. I wanted to let you all know that I have a new riding video out on you tube. If you want to see a blind guy ride a bike over some crazy things than check the link below. Also if you are interested in supporting me further, you can check out my go fund me page as well. I am in the process of transitioning from a bike mechanic to a full time motivational speaker.
