Custom Marino 'StreeTGS' 24"

Edited: Jun 13, 2017

Hopefully this will get built up this week. I've had the frame for a few months now, but haven't had the budget to finish the build.

The geometry is fairly radical, there is really nothing else out there quite like this. This winter I started messaging with Ross McArthur in UK about some ideas I had for a Marino build. We both had a similar concept, although I was originally thinking 26" wheels. He ended up convincing me to go 24" and has an identical geometry frame built up. Mine is different than his in that I have vertical dropouts and both rim and HS33 mounts.

He is calling his the Marino "Vader". If it does what I hope it will, it will have a TGS sidehop / gap feel but able to bunnyhop and manual EASILY. However, I don't think it will be any good for the spins / bmx moves something like an arcade is good at.

I'll keep on updating this thread as I get it going :)

Finished the build today. It definitely needs a shorter stem and higher bars. But, I'm good to need a fork with a longer steerer to do that. Kinda done spending money on bikes....

Anywho. I haven't got a chance to ride it yet. Maybe tomorrow I will give it a go as is.

Nice looking bike. I like the 'all black' look. Craig, I understand the 'shorter stem' -- but what do you mean by "higher bars." Those bars look to have a big rise. Do you mean a steeper angle on a new stem would provide for higher bars ? or?

Got a better stem for it and my first proper ride today. :)

Fire chief. The bars are fairly high, but they feel weird angled back. I think arcade bars or similar geo would feel better in this position.

Now for sale. It has an inspired stem and Arcade bars on it. $1905 + shipping.

  • Purchased this in 2014 with the intention of getting into trials. Broke my collarbone on my roadie and never got very far with trials. I'm back at it again, this time with my 10 year old daughter who rides a mod.
  • After being off any type of trials riding for 6 or 7 years, getting back in the saddle in order to teach my 5 years old. Surprisingly still feel comfortable on the bike. Was on Observed trials forums years ago, but does not seem to be any activity over there anymore.
